I suppose that I could have used any camera make/model since no Amcrest has IVS that I am aware of but I didn't actually try any other brands/models. ONVIF wasn't able to deal with IVS so after the cams were connected and showing a pic, I then changed to a different Amcrest camera since mine isn't listed.

After flashing the Amcrest with Dahua firmware, I had to first install the cameras in QVR Pro as ONVIF ProfileS and then hit test, at which point the green check mark came up and the cams connected. Here is how I got my unsupported cameras online and functioning, complete with IVS Intrusion detection. There are 2 Dahua models with similar specs that also don't show up in the Qnap list so I thought I would be stuck with only motion detection, which I hate due to frequent false alarms. To make things even more interesting, both cams have been flashed with Dahua firmware to support IVS functions which have been removed from the neutered Amcrest firmware. The cameras are both 5mp Amcrest IP5M-T1179E cameras that aren't on the list. I currently have 2 'unsupported' cameras running on QVR Pro right now.

I realize that this is a zombie thread from 2.5 months ago but I thought I would let some of you know that all hope is not lost with cameras that have different firmware versions and/or aren't on the compatibility list. If you got new firmware, you are out of support and your QNAP is worth nothing.īut this is just my experience, I hope yours is better.
